Paul's been wanting to go downtown to look at the Christmas decorations, so today he & I took the train down. We got off at Jackson/Van Buren and went to Tower Records first, where we bought some bargain CD's. Then we walked north along Wabash, stopped at the Palmer House for a little rest in their lobby, then continued north along State Street. We enjoyed the windows at Carson's and Marshall Fields, and went into Fields for a little while.

Paul commented on what a difference having the cane makes. People were very considerate of him, and I think it also helps him feel steadier. We came home on the train that I usually come home from work on. I was glad I had driven the car to the parking lot at 211th, because we were pretty tired when we got back. It was a nice day though.
