Paul went in for his blood test today, and the white count is still low. In fact, it's worse than it was last week. The numbers are:
white - 1
hemoglobin - 9.5
platelets - 85
The doctor prescribed Neupogen to build up his white count. It's an injection that I have to give him once a day. This medicine costs over $1,000 for 10 injections. Thank heavens for insurance! I still had to pay $50.00 co-payment, but that's better than it could have been.
Paul is staying home again this week. I'm taking off tomorrow because I'm feeling run down and I know I need to stay healthy so I don't expose Paul to something. They've postponed the chemotherapy for another week at least. He goes in for another blood test on Friday.
